From Mania to Revolution – A Beatles Tribute to George Martin
Davey Lane – Ashley Naylor – Linda Bull – Kram
with guests Deborah Conway, Abby Dobson, Dan Kelly, Steve Kilbey, Kellie Lloyd, Rob Younger & more.
Often described as the 5th Beatle, it was George Martin that captured on tape the visceral energy of the band’s early years and delivered their unique vision on their increasingly ground breaking albums. Martin’s work had a profound influence on music throughout the 60’s and beyond, irrevocably setting the course of popular music, the effects of which can still be heard today.
You Am I legend Davey Lane brings together the cream of Australia’s music fraternity to present two full sets of Beatles classics: “Eight Days A Week of Beatlemania (The Live Years)” and “Revolution in the Head (Innovation That Changed The World)”.
Whilst songs performed will include such early classics as ‘Please Please Me’, ‘A Hard Days Night’ and ‘Help’ the focus of the performance will highlight George Martin’s production and arrangement genius with amazing songs such as ‘I am The Walrus’, ‘In My Life’, ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’, ‘Something’, ‘Hey Jude’, ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’, ‘Come Together’ and ‘A Day In The Life’.
The national run of dates will include Davey Lane (vocals, guitar), Ashley Naylor (vocals, guitar), Kram (vocals – not Adelaide), Linda Bull (vocals), James Fleming (Keyboards), Nick Murphy (Bass) and Brett Wolfenden (Drums), joined in each city by some very special guests.
